Bankstown Library and Knowledge Centre

As the largest library in the area, Bankstown Library and Knowledge Centre offers an extensive collection spread across three floors.

It’s home to the Local History collection, a research room, multiple study areas, a peaceful reading garden and the biggest children’s area in the region.

Designed by renowned architect Francis-Jones Morehen Thorp, the library is a modern community hub designed to meet the growing needs of our city. It features sustainability initiatives like energy-efficient lighting, air conditioning and a unique Green Wall that improves air quality using natural plant filtration.

You’ll find a wide range of programs and events, including technology workshops, the accessible Tovertafel and a comprehensive Local and Family History collection. Other amenities include a 24/7 return chute, Justice of the Peace services and special accessibility features like a social story for children with additional needs. There’s always something happening at Bankstown Library!
