Slam Messiah returns to Bankstown, bringing Handel’s Messiah alive like never before!

River City Voices fuses the timeless beauty of baroque music with contemporary spoken word poetry, tackling themes of hope, resilience and equality for Western Sydney audiences.

This shortened chamber version features thrilling arias and the iconic Hallelujah Chorus, alongside new poets responding to the music’s message.

Conducted by Artistic Director Dr Sarah Penicka-Smith, the performance includes award-winning vocalists Kerry Nicholson, Wesley Yu and Michael Lampard, accompanied by The Muffat Collective.

With each note, Slam Messiah offers an alive, immediate experience, asking what redemption sounds like today.
