🚨 EVENT UPDATE 🚨 Due to extreme wind gusts in Bankstown, the decision has been made by Council to CANCEL today’s Bankstown Lunar New Year celebration. Looking for other Lunar New Year celebrations? We apologise for any inconvenience and wish you a Happy Lunar New Year. — Join us for a joyous celebration filled with mouthwatering food, vibrant cultural experiences and thrilling live entertainment. Be part of the lively dragon parade starting at 4.30pm from the Vietnamese Boat People Monument—featuring dragons, drums and local community members. Walk with us and bring the festive spirit to life! Enjoy a Lion and firecracker finale to end the evening with a bang! Explore beautiful bonsai displays and receive a free calligraphy piece to take home as a memorable keepsake. Check out the program below! Don’t forget to check out Art Up Late at the Bankstown Arts Centre, 16–23 January, 6-9pm! Celebrate stories and connections across cultures, meet artists of the Bankstown Biennale, and enjoy poetic performances, experimental clay workshops, craft markets and more. End the experience with a party to celebrate the Lunar New Year. This free event is not to be missed!

Please be aware of potential parking constraints.

Limited parking will be available on Dale Parade, south of Olympic Parade. There will changes to existing parking restrictions for 10 accessible spaces at Griffith Park.

The best options for parking close by would be:

  • Limited free four hours (4P) parking is available at the community car park located along Olympic Parade.
  • Brandon Avenue public parking
    42 Northam Avenue
  • Saigon Place public parking – 180 metres
    51 Old Town Centre Plaza
  • Greenfield Parade public parking – 260 metres

  • Marion Street carpark – 450 metres
