Friday 12 September
Opening night dance party
Kick off Culture X Festival with the Opening Night Dance Party at the BAC Forecourt from 5–8pm.
Move to DJ Flygirl Tee spinning global tracks, catch pop-up performances and join guest singers and EmCees from multicultural communities.
At 5pm, learn African dance with legends Yacou Mbaye and Lucky Lartey and become part of the feature act.
Bare Necessities Collective hits the stage at 7pm with FBi Radio legends, horns, drumming and dancefloor gems collected worldwide.
This night is all about energy, interaction and letting the streets of Bankstown come alive with sound, movement and celebration.

Saturday 13 September
Worlds Collide in the Round
Saturday’s highlight, Worlds Collide in the Round, transforms the BAC Theatre into an immersive, interactive experience at 7pm.
Experience the fusion of seven cultures through music, dance and rhythm, with performances by Yulugi, Danny Telas, Palestinian Music Ensemble and more.
Earlier, join the Gypsy Caravan Stage, learn drumming patterns and show your freestyling skills in the Open Mic Cypher with Izzy and RTB Crew at 6pm.
Get a chance to perform live in the concert that evening. African drumming workshops run from 5pm with Yacou Mbaye and Lucky Lartey, letting everyone be part of the global sound celebration.

Sunday 14 September
Ritual
Sunday’s Ritual offers a reflective, immersive close to Culture X Festival from 1–3pm.
Begin in the BAC Courtyard at 1pm with a smoking ceremony and Acknowledgement of Country, led by an Aboriginal Elder, connecting participants to Country and community.
At 2pm, experience Ritual in concert in the BAC Theatre, a compelling blend of poetry and Persian music by Avaye Rood, exploring Muslim-Australian identities.
Witness live readings intertwined with musical performances for a moving, thought-provoking finale.
This is a unique opportunity to engage with language, culture, and music while reflecting on community, heritage and connection in a powerful immersive experience.
