Wow, what a day! Canterbury-Bankstown Council just wrapped up the 20th Bankstown Bites — and it was epic.

Over 16,000 people rolled in to smash 50+ food stalls and jump on four buzzing food tours. For the first time ever, we kicked things off early with a Sneak Peek Pre-Event at Bankstown Arts Centre — over 4,000 people enjoyed tasty eats by Bossman Experiences, DJ beats by Red Bull and drop-in art workshops & live exhibitions.

Thanks for making Bankstown Bites 2025 a feast of flavour, fun and fantastic memories. Next year we hit the 21st Anniversary — expect even more delicious adventures.

Big love to our sponsors: Bankstown Sports, Sydney Water, Sydney Metro, Bossman Experiences, ABC Radio, Connect FM and Red Bull.

The crowd was hooked as Karima Hazim (Sunday Kitchen), Big Sam Young and Arrnott Olssen brought their signature flavours, culinary flair and big personalities to the Bankstown Bites Celebrity Chef Demos and Masterclass.

Karima served up heart and heritage with hands-on Lebanese cooking experiences. Big Sam Young wowed with bold flavours inspired by global travels and top Sydney kitchens.

And of course, Arrnott Olssen lit up the stage with charisma, creativity and powerhouse vocals — the perfect recipe to celebrate 20 years of the Bites Kitchen.

Live broadcasts, workshops, art and community fun all day

Bites Alfresco

We soaked up a lively mix of live broadcasts, workshops, art and community fun all day long!

  • ABC Radio kicked things off with a live broadcast through most of the morning.

  • Connect FM Radio kept the vibes going for the rest of the day.

  • CBCITY Where Interesting Happens brought the laughs with a free 360 Photobooth running all day.

  • We were wowed by Umuwi Ka Na, a vibrant, ephemeral installation, and inspired by artist Yani Guatlo at Bankstown Arts Centre.

  • Sydney Water shared tips on water conservation — plus their spin-the-wheel giveaways were a hit!

Bites Backyard

Everyone kicked back and soaked up the good vibes while the kids went all out with:

  • Lawn games

  • Barefoot bowls

  • Face painting

  • Balloon artistry

  • Interactive games

And when Bites wrapped up, families stuck around to keep the fun going with live entertainment at

Bankstown Arts Centre returned with a full day of hands-on art!

Creativity on show

Once again, we came together at Bankstown Arts Centre for a day packed with artistic fun and flair.

Alongside the delicious chaos of Bankstown Bites, the centre was buzzing with free hands-on activities, live entertainment and a vibrant artists’ market thanks to our incredible local creatives.

People loved getting messy in the studio, checking out fresh works by local makers, enjoying live music and dancing all day under one roof.

A highlight was the launch of the quirky new exhibition, Gut Waters — a creative spin on how our guts shape the way we see the world and our wellbeing.
