Architectures of Bankstown

Architectures of Bankstown gives a fresh look at the diverse and ever-changing urban landscape of Bankstown, as seen through the eyes of 21 Western Sydney University students.

This exhibition, created in partnership with Bankstown Arts Centre, showcases their bold ideas alongside work from professional architects.

It’s the final outcome of the university’s third-year Urban Transformation Summer School—a hands-on program supported by Holdmark Property Group and Powerhouse.

Each year, students take part in an intensive design studio, coming up with creative solutions for real places.

This time, they focused on Bankstown’s vibrant multicultural centre, exploring ways to bring people together along the Appian Way, which links the east and west sides of the suburb.
